This plant grows mounted on plaques or other substrates. In nature they most commonly attach to trees.

The fern has two type of leaves, a round one that covers the root ball and a long fronds that hangs from the center, these fronds can reach 3 feet long.


They require similar growing conditions as orchids and air plants.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 12 ft x 5 ft

PLANT TYPE: Fern -Evergreen- epiphytic

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE: bold

LIGHT: No direct light

WATER: moist, well drain, high humidity
SOIL: compost/ moss when young, at maturity best mounted.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A , multiply by spores or division.


KEY FEATURES: Grown for their unique foliage among orchids and tropicals. Plant can reach several feet. Does not like to be disturb.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

-3/2012- I had a plant like this one before and it died probably from overwater and neglect. This one hope it will do better among orchids and air-plants instead of inside my home.
-Purchased as a young plant in 4” pot with compost.
-3/16/12  Placed entire content of pot, pot removed in a 8”/short wooden basket. Cover entire 8” square with Sphagnum moss. Hanged basket until the plant mature and attached to basket, then I will place it vertical.
-5/10/12 Mount second plant same as above. 
-7/08/12 Mounted both plants in Trellis A & Trellis C with wooden baskets.
