Additional Information: Original at “Noel Road Gardens”, Indianapolis, IN,

a previous home yard brought to Mooring Hitch Gardens & now Stonehenge.

The most adaptable of the Japanese Anemone. From late summer to fall, there is no flower quite like it in the border for providing late season color. Soft pink single flowers float above deep green foliage. The hardiest to zone 4 and the most tolerant of sun and drier conditions.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 1-2 ft x 5 ft/spreads

PLANT TYPE: perennial

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE: fine

LIGHT:  sun to part shade

WATER: medium to dry

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Eastern NC.

BLOOMS: pink tall blooms in fall


FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, it spreads by underground roots.


KEY FEATURES:a reliable perennial that blooms every fall when most plants are done. Leaves are soft and attractive with a velvety back.

   I brought few plants from my garden in Indianapolis to Mooring Hitch where they flourish, now few roots/small plants from MH to Stonehenge.
A very hardy plant. Spreads slowly underground. Hard to comletely erradicate once establish.
- First test is to see if Deer leave it alone.
