The most adaptable of the Japanese Anemone. From late summer to fall, there is no flower quite like it in the border for providing late season color. Soft pink single flowers float above deep green foliage. The hardiest to zone 4 and the most tolerant of sun and drier conditions.

PLANT TYPE: perennial

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE: fine

LIGHT:  sun to part shade

WATER: medium to dry

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: pink tall blooms in fall


FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, it spreads by underground roots.


KEY FEATURES:a reliable perennial that blooms every fall when most plants are done. Leaves are soft and attractive with a velvety back.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

   I brought few plants from my garden in Indianapolis, much before the yard had the existing flowerbeds.
A very hardy plant that has survive multiple floods, attempts to eradicate because it spreads more than sometimes desire, but at the end the plant is reliable, beautiful and deserves a spot in the yard. Every fall some plants appear in Bed #2 with the tall pink flowers.
