Replacement  one tree on Feb. 2006; purchased at Lowes, New Bern, NC

Two  trees arrived  4 ft. high and were originally planted in the West yard, a very sunny and open location then. Planted in a raise bed the ground was also dry.

After 2 yrs. of frequent fungus on leaves and hard to maintain soil moist enough during summer, one tree died. Spring 2006, we moved  the surviving tree and a replacement

to the East Yard bed #16 which provides a cooler/shady spot. Since then, the trees have grown tall and healthy. Orchard Orioles come back to nest every year since 2007.

A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch
Trees were move once from WY to EY where it remains as of Jan. 2010
These trees put a bright spot in the yard all year around. For two consecutive years a pair of Orchard Orioles have nested in the same tree, the nests are unique because are weaved into the branches protecting them from blowing away on strong winds.
Fall 2009, I applied Mycorrhizal fungi (MycoGrow Hydro) to the soil around the roots which promotes grown.
Spring 2010 I will fertilize all my plants with Fish & Seaweed blend fertilizer (2-3-1), (Neptune’s Harvest).
-Jan.2013. A total of 4 trees survive, two per bed in #15 & #16 EY. They tolerate floods and summer heat. Orchard Orioles come back every spring to nest in them.http://www.fungi.comhttp://www.neptunesharvest.comshapeimage_6_link_0shapeimage_6_link_1
