GROWTH RATE: fast

LIGHT: Part shade. Morning sun

WATER: moist, to dry. Tolerates drought

SOIL: tolerates many types
As observed in Eastern NC.

BLOOMS: April to May, red blooms insignificant, very small.

FRUIT  AND  SEED:  seeds are difficult to germinate, they will not grow true to cultivar.

KEY FEATURES: Fall colors are the brightest yellow gold and peach orange-red.

Tree planted as a 4 ft. specimen. Animals(?- squirrels) ate the trunk bark during Deer & other creatures repellents are now in use year round. So far, so good.(6/2014)

Green laceleaf, weeping Japanese maple  matures to a naturally formal mounded cascading weeper. It can be pruned for a "mushroom cap" appearance, or left unpruned so that its branches weep clear to the ground. Red-highlighted orange-gold autumn colors, holding its wondrously colorful leaves for several weeks before falling.
