Additional Information: Small cutting from Bob’s first office in Oriental, NC “Central Hotel” building.

 

A cutting from a abondoned pot turned to be a wonderful addition to my yard.

Blooms on/off  all summer, during moderate winter the plant remains green and any broken pieces can be place directly into the soil and they will root.


A great ground cover/ trailing plant with a colorful flower. Succulent type foliage is delicate to handle.

PLANT TYPE: Semi- Evergreen

GROWTH RATE: Fast

TEXTURE: soft/ succulent

LIGHT: part shade to full sun

WATER: moist but not wet

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: Blooms early spring until late fall.


FRUIT  AND  SEED: I have not observed any seeds or seedlings. Multily by cuttings directly in the ground.


KEY FEATURES: good ground cover and trailing features, not a plant to walk on, delicate fleshy leaves. Flowers will put a bright show.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

    Started as a small cutting in a pot.  Over the years I have place this plants and multiple cuttings in flower beds where some trailing interest is desire.
A permanent feature in bed #6 West Yard.  
Easy to care I just make sure that I have a patch surviving at all times to obtain cutting from. 
I no longer keep a plant in a pot, to demanding to keep water.
Plant is hardy in my Zone 7b.
