Additional Information: Purchased at www.forrestfarm.com

A great Nursery located in Williams, OR with a very large variety of plants, most of them sold in small containers.

This dwarf conifer came as a tiny twig barely 4 inches tall. Six years later is about 2 ft. tall and wide.

This is one of the first two out of five cultivars I have of this plant. The plant  tolerates hot summer with full afternoon sun and several floods of brackish water.

Difficult to see a difference between “Nana Gracilis” and “Contorta”, side by side N. Gracilis has darker foliage, slightly wider and taller over time. Looks good all year around.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 4-6 ft. x 3-4 ft. in 10 yrs.

PLANT TYPE: Dwarf Evergreen, conifer

GROWTH RATE: slow

TEXTURE: fine, twisted

LIGHT: Full sun to part shade

WATER: medium moist

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: insignificant. Tiny, brown at the tip of branches.

FRUIT AND SEED: I have yet to see seed cones in this plant.

KEY FEATURES: One of the best dwarf for its irregular shape, upright with dark green foliage.
White lines coloration on underside of branches. Suitable for Bonsai.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Plant stands on the same bed as “Contorta” a very similar cultivar. Both plants have done well. Started of similar size and on same date, “Nana Gracilis” grows a bit faster, darker color foliage and more twisted branches.

This plant requires no other care than weeding around it and fertilizer once per season.
